The Board of Directors hopes everyone is doing well during these difficult times. We continue to monitor the situation to determine if any of the local, provincial or federal guidelines impact our community.

The road is now 99% clear of ice and snow. I am sure everyone is eager to get bact to their properties but please keep the following in mind if you are planning to use Yarrow Lane in the coming weeks:

  • Please tread lightly! As the frost is coming out of the ground, heavy traffic on the road will cause ruts that are expensive to repair.
  • Please do not bring in heavy loads yet if you can avoid it.
  • If your vehicle has four-wheel drive, please use it! It will reduce the chances of spinning your tires and causing damage.
  • Please be safe - stay away from ice on the lakes and ponds.
  • Please have a cell phone with you at all times - if something happens, you need to be able to contact someone for help.
  • Keep an eye out for debris.

  • Road Work
It looks like the second or third week of April could be the start of some road work. As noted in the October 2019 update, road work to remove 'nuggets' from the road to help with grading and ditch cleanup will be happening once the frost is out of the ground and the equipment needed can be arranged.

    2020 AGM
The 2020 Annual General Meeting will be held on May 17th this year. It kicks off at noon at 492-C. Should there be any need to rearrange the meeting given the current COVID-19 situation we will email all memebers well in advance. The Board of Directors is planning to meet 2-3 weeks prior to the AGM to prepare the agenda and any meeting materials.

Road Fees for 2020 are due on (or before) the 2020 AGM: May 17th at noon.
In preparation for the AGM in 2020, the road fee amounts have been updated on the online payment page to reflect the outcomes of the Board of Directors meeting in September last year. A reminder that we still have a number of members (AHC, SM, GH, DB, JM) who have not yet paid their 2018 and 2019 fees. Back due fee payments must made by Interac e-transfer to the President. If you don't know how to do that, please check your email for the President's contact information.

    Bears - Excerpted from Bear-Wise
Bears want to avoid humans. Most encounters are not aggressive and attacks are rare. But if you feel a bear poses an immediate threat to personal safety, you need to act. Call 911 or local police if a bear:

  • Enters or tries to enter a residence
  • Stalks people and lingers at the site
  • Call the Bear Wise reporting line at 1-866-514-2327 (April 1-November 30) if a bear is:

  • Roaming around, checking garbage cans
  • Breaking into a shed where garbage or food is stored
  • In a tree
  • Pulling down a bird feeder or knocking over a barbecue
  • Moving through a backyard or field but is not lingering
  • Thanks to the three members who took advantage of our new online road fee payment feature - seems to be working like a charm. For anyone who has yet to send in their road fees, please do so as quickly as possible. And a big thanks to everyone that's up to date with their fees.
